CREATURE - story of movement

The story of CREATURE goes with me throughout my years as a dancer and choreographer, and it continues to evolve during my in-depth meeting with people from different movement cultures around the world.

One can think of CREATURE as a set of physical rules within which we play, move together. We learn how to let the body lead us, to prioritize what the body wants over what the thoughts want.

The practice of the CREATURE focuses on different qualities of movement in our body and offers ways to perfect their use at any given moment: balance them, use different energy levels, distribute the effort in the body holistically, move with instinctive speed, allow the emotion that arises from the physicality to be used as a source of energy that moves the body.

The CREATURE focuses on movement as a response to what we feel. The close connection between movement and sensory experience is what allows us to develop and discover more about both our physical range and our ability to express ourselves through movement in an unmediated way.

In the practice, we invite many physical micro-challenges - through them we develop, learn about our patterns, our strengths. Through conscious practice we decide on patterns we want to preserve and those we want to replace with better ones.

CREATURE, as its name suggests, connects the creature with the creator we are.  We will experience the body as an instrument and the movement as music. Each of us will find the unique music only for him, tune its instrument and refine the music he plays. We will find new rhythms within the body, and more ways in which we express ourselves through unmediated movement.

A creature session combines structured work of basic exercises together with guided free movement. The practice combines personal work together with partnering work.

It is suitable to ALL movement practitioners, in all levels.
